Fantastic atmosphere surrounded the first day of the Finals. All participants stepped on the floor with waves of cheering welcoming them. The senior individual all-around gold were taken by Bulgarian Stiliana Nikolova with a 143.750 points.
Stiliana Nikolova: “It was such an honour and a great feeling to participate in the same competition with those who are my idols. I would like to give the best of me all the time and of course I’d like to give the best in Paris too.”
Italian Sofia Raffaeli came in second while Darja Varfolomeev from Germany finished third. Fanni Pigniczki of Hungary finished 8th while Hanna Wiesner came in 12th.
Fanni Pigniczki: “I’m so happy that I could reach my personal best individual all-around result in front of a domestic crowd. I’m thru a very long day. I was a bit angry after the clubs, but I put myself together with ribbons, I made a little mistake again with hoops but when it came to balls I felt free when I stepped on the floor.”
Both the senior groups all-around team finals were won by Bulgaria. At groups AA Italy came second while Spain finished third. At Teams Italy also took the silver medal while Israel finished third.
